Political Police

These common voters! Really, what's the use
Of letting them elect some senior cops?
The turnout's limp, and so the mandate flops,
And turns poor Dave that nasty shade of puce.

Upon their head be it, next time the boot
Must be applied to gipsy or to darky;
Or some untasered terrorist malarkey
Impels the Met to start a turkey shoot.

They do not do their duty at the polls,
That gracious gift of democratic Dave
To brighten Britain's economic grave:
Democracy is wasted on the proles

None of the above: electorate spurns David Cameron's police polls

  1. I like the rhyme scheme. And the sentiments.

  2. Beautiful sarcasm. And that darky / malarky rhyme is genius.

  3. Thanks, all.

    A certain form of irony's the lowest form of wit;
    Yet fair enough when bothered by a certain sort of twit.
    The nation is imperilled by the Bullingdon malarkey,
    And therefore we are justified in getting somewhat sarky.
